Team Sahlen Race Facility Open House
EBR PCA would like to extend a special thank you to the Nonnamaker family for hosting an open house of their race facility. Those who attended the Team Sahlen Racing Open House were treated to a rare look into the operations of a race team that competes in IMSA’s Continental Tire Series. Porsche of Beachwood was also in attendance and brought along some eye candy in the form of a new 991 GT3 for display.
Dinner was provided along with many goodie bag stuffers and raffle drawings for some special prizes. Guests were shown a presentation of the team’s history in sports car racing along with video and data from their most recent race at Sebring. After the presentation a tour of the shop was given. It was a special opportunity to see their two Porsche Caymans in race trim along with the teams transporter, pit box, and various equipment. Here are some pictures from the event.
Cool Video of The 18th annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance
I’ve always wanted to make a trip to attend the show. Check out the following link to view a well produced video entitled Born of a Blue Sky. There is some nice Porsche content and the sounds are wonderful, http://vimeo.com/63531878.

2014 EBR Chili Cook-Off Results
We would like to thank everyone that came out and shared their chili or helped judge the 2014 edition of the annual EBR chili cook-off. Pictured are the winners for each category. Left to right, Dave Wells for Most Original, Alex Soduk for Spiciest, and Scott McSherry for People’s Choice.
It was great to try the different styles and personal interpretations of chili recipes. It was especially nice to catch up with other EBR members.
Hope to see you at the next event!
EBR Slot Car Racing
Mark’s Model World provided a great setting for some close slot car racing. Mark was a great host and provided club members the opportunity to test their skill on two of their challenging tracks. The “Rental” cars were evenly matched for the most part except for a white colored car that must have been tuned by Smokey Yunick himself. It was a great way to get a car on track on a weeknight in February.
