Please plan to join your fellow PCA Zone 4 members in a trip to the North American International Auto Show being held in Detroit, Michigan at the Cobo Hall Conference & Exhibition Center Jan. 11-24, 2016. The show opens to the public on Saturday, January 16th, 2016. Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) has announced that it will be providing a private presentation of their 2016 models for PCA Members and guests from 7:00 AM until 9:00 AM before the show opens to the public.

The Porsche Preview announcement is as follows:

As an attendee, you will have early access to the entire Porsche display before it’s shown to the general public.  Be among the first to get up close and personal with all the latest Porsche models.

Porsche. There is no substitute.

This year, our Zone 4 gathering at the show will be from 7:00 to 9:00 AM at the Porsche Display. We will have a registration table setup in the lobby of Cobo Center near the Oakland Hall Entrance, for those that are pre-registered to pick up their tickets- no additional ticket purchase will be necessary. No preview tickets will be available for sale at the will call.

Because of the distance to Detroit for many Zone 4 members, you may want to plan a weekend trip to the Motor City. We are helping by coordinating the following weekend events for those individuals and regions that would like to make this a weekend destination event:

·         There is a block of rooms for Zone 4 PCA members at THE HENRY Autograph Collection (Marriott) in Dearborn, MI. The block is for 30 rooms on Friday, January 15th and 15 rooms on Saturday, January 16th. The PCA rate is $130.00 per night plus applicable taxes.  Reservation cutoff date is 5:00pm on Friday, January 8th and the room block will be listed as Porsche Club of America. Contact THE HENRY, Autograph Collection, a Marriott Hotel, Fairlane Plaza, 300 Town Center Drive, Dearborn, Michigan 48126-2712 USA,
Phone: 1-888-709-8081 or use the link: Book your group rate for Porsche Club of America

·          Dinner gathering on Friday Evening at 7:00 PM for all Zone 4 members (Individual Pay); at THE HENRY in the Private Dining Room just off the Lobby.  Please RSVP to MSoriano.ZoneRep@gmail.com by Tuesday, January 11th if you plan to join us at dinner so we can confirm the reservations.

·          For those of us staying in Dearborn, we will organize vehicles on Saturday morning to leave from THE HENRY, drive downtown and park at the Cobo Center Roof Deck. This will take around 25 minutes with light traffic. We will leave THE HENRY around 6:00 AM and you can return from the Cobo Center at your own leisure.
·         For those staying overnight on Saturday, we have planned a dinner gathering on Saturday Evening with cocktails at 7:00 PM with dinner at 8 p.m. for all Zone 4 members (Individual Pay).
Let me know if you want to join us for dinner.

PLEASE NOTE: The Welcome Dinner and Room Block Sold Out last year BEFORE the Preview Tickets went on sale, so RSVP for the dinner to MSoriano.ZoneRep@gmail.com and contact the hotel to Book your room as soon as possible.

You MUST register and pay for your tickets to the Porsche Preview on the motorsportreg.com <http://motorsportreg.com/> website to attend the preview event- no exceptions can be made. Tickets are reasonably priced at $20.00 each. We will have a registration list at the registration table at the Cobo Center on Saturday morning. You will receive a confirmation from MotorsportReg after you register – we will need to limit the number of people to 200 in the hospitality area at the Porsche Display. They will admit those PCA Members that pre-register only. If you have not used the MotorsportReg.com website before, it is a very simple process to set up an account with a password and credit card information. Many PCA regions and other clubs are using this method for event ticket these days.  Ticket sales will begin on Monday, January 4th at noon and continue until the event sells out.

Several regions have done this as a very successful event weekend in the past and are planning again in 2016- it can be a great family weekend adventure in the midst of winter. We will leave the details of any group travel plans to and from the event to each region to organize what their membership might like to do.

Hope to see you there!
